Ric Stewart is a 20 year veteran radio dj, writer and video producer. His music-based story telling on WAIF, 88.3 Cincinnati, KALX 90.7 Berkeley, WTUL 91.7 New Orleans and There1.com has been highlighted in The Village Voice, SF Bay Guardian and Offbeat. In 1995, he founded THERE, an innovative radio-magazine and performance site which has drawn over 1 million web viewers. For THERE Ric produced dj shows, and interview/performances with Allen Toussaint, Courtney Pine, Buckwheat Zydeco, Doc Watson, Tony Joe White, Peter Case and many more, while filtering over 10,000 releases, rare/exclusive video sources, and live shows in legendary Louisiana and San Francisco venues to develop a resource for adult music fans.
Ric has written and produced over a dozen short films for festivals, winning The New Orleans Film Festival Award for best 16mm film in 1991. Writing for diverse publications: All Music Guide, Citysearch, Rockvillage.com, and Electronic Musician, Ric has also chronicled the intersection of music and new media. In the web audio video arena Ric has provided web production and broadcasting consulting services to many companies including Apple Computers, Ascend Communications, and Macromedia.
